A man was sentenced to probation and a fine today at the U.S. Courthouse in Boise for running an illegal gambling business.
Kings Santy, 44, of Meridian, has been ordered to serve two years of probation, pay a $3,000 fine, serve three months of home detention and perform 100 hours of community service, as well as forfeit more than $16,000 in seized cash and $100,000 in cash proceeds. In court, Santy admitted to running two illicit gambling businesses, one in Boise and another in Nampa, for seven years. He told law enforcement that he made about $50,000 a year in profits from the business.
Last year, Boise Weekly reported on the Lough family, members of which were charged with gambling after a raid by the Boise Police Department's BANDIT unit in July 2013.
