An Idaho State Police trooper, already accused of stealing ammo, now faces additional felony charges, including stalking.
Daniel Howard, 48, was charged in April with possession of stolen property, petit theft and possession of untagged deer, has been placed on administrative leave without pay. He now faces additional charges of aggravated assault, malicious injury to property and first-degree stalking.
This morning's Coeur d'Alene Press reports that the new charges against Howard allegedly stem from Howard's reaction to learning his wife had been having an affair with a neighbor. Prosecutors say Howard stole guns, took his neighbor's mail, followed the neighbor in a patrol car, pointed his rifle at him and even shot the rifle at the neighbor's roof.
Howard faces a Thursday, June 19, hearing in Kootenai County District Court.
