Idaho Fish and Game Investigates Poaching of Deer, Sturgeon

Posted By on Wed, Jun 18, 2014 at 9:49 AM

Idaho Fish and Game needs the public's help in investigating separate incidents of poaching: one involving sturgeon on the Snake River and another involving the killings of three deer near Ketchum.

IDFG reports that three animals, a doe and two fawns, were found to be shot and left for dead near a Lake Creek Road campground.

Additionally, officers report that they have collected evidence that leads them to believe someone landed and took away sturgeon in two incidents on the Snake River near the CJ Strike Reservoir. Sturgeon fishing is legal in the Snake, but only catch and release.

Anyone with information is asked to call Citizens Against Poaching, which is offering a reward, at 1-800-632-5999 or Idaho Fish and Game at 208-465-8465.
