This is quickly turning into a summer of power outages in North Idaho and Eastern Washington. The latest outages, reported this morning, left more than 20,000 homes in the dark.
Tens of thousands of customers lost service in July when a storm swept through the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene areas. And then earlier this month, as many as 48,000 customers were without power
when high winds and violent thunderstorms swept through the region, causing widespread damage.
And now, Avista and Inland Power both report thousands of their customers are in the dark in Post Falls, Spokane and Deer Park.
There was no immediate word on what caused the latest outage, but crews were working on the scene through the morning to fix the problem.
