Spokane Police say they're "frustrated" by an online prank promising to "purge" Spokane, but they'll be out in force Friday night.
KREM-TV reports that a graphic began swirling through social media earlier this morning promising a "purge" similar to the popular horror movie. One of the fliers reads: "August 22, 2014; everyone be downtown; let's start a riot and hit up all the stores."
Officials with the Spokane Police Department said they're pretty sure nothing will happen this evening and they'll be patrolling just like any other night.
"We don't have any specific information to suggest this is a credible threat or that this event will even occur," Spokane Police Lt. Bart Stevens told KREM-TV.
