Capital Market Ready To Kick Off

Your shopping trip just got more interesting

This Saturday kicks off that downtown haven of all things farmer market-y, the Capital City Public Market.

Boise locals are familiar with the routine: 8th Street is cleared out, cleaned up and filled with booths boasting the best in local produce, gourmet food and wine and lots of art. You can find everything from pottery and mosaics to handcrafted walking sticks and metal works.

Each week also features a talented lineup of performing artists. This week you can catch Tim Andraea, Mike Brisson and Lawrence Hilgeman, and the Boise Highlanders playing from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

For those who want to be the one behind the booth, Art at the Market announces The Emerging Artist Showcase: budding artists can showcase their work at one of the booths. Interested artists should register at Boise Blue Art Supply, 820 W. Jefferson.

The festivities run each Saturday through the end of October from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., 8th Street and the Grove.
