Ada County is giving voters the chance to cast their ballots early for the upcoming community college special taxing district election.
Anyone who cannot vote on election day, or who just wants to get a jump on things, can take advantage of early voting at locations in Boise, Eagle and Meridian ahead of the May 22 election day.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Monday, at three locations; the Idaho Fish and Game office at 600 S. Walnut in Boise; Eagle City Hall, 660 E. Civic Lane; and Christ Lutheran Church, 1406 W. Cherry Lane in Meridian.
Any registered voter may vote early, and qualified unregistered voters can register at the polling locations by bringing a valid photo identification and proof of address.
The election is seeking approval to create a special taxing district, which would include both Ada and Canyon Counties, to support a proposed community college. If approved, the district would increase property taxes throughout the area to support the school.
On election day, polls will be open at all local voting precincts. To find out where you vote, visit the state voting Web site
or call 287-6860.
