After months of acrimonious fighting, name-calling and personal attacks, the Boise Police Union has a new contract.
The Boise City Council is set to meet in a special meeting on Wednesday morning to approve the new contract. Details of the actual contract are yet unknown, although it is expected to be approved.
The police have been working without a contract for more than a year, and the battle to work out the details turned bitter in recent months. The union seems to have won one point of contention. According to the Council agenda, the contract is dated from April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2010, giving the union the four-year contract it had wanted.
