Mankiller Cancels

Get well soon Wilma Mankiller.

Mankiller, the first woman chief of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, was forced to cancel her scheduled appearance at the Fifth First Nations Conference this week at Boise State due to illness.

Chief Chadwick “Corntassel” Smith, principal chief of the Cherokee Nation, will fill in for the ailing Mankiller.

Smith will speak from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday in the Student Union Jordan Ballroom.

An educator, speaker and constitutional scholar, Smith is known as the Renaissance Chief." The presentation is free and open to all.
