Speaking of New Blogs

Posted on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 4:00 AM

It's old news in the media world, but yesterday cyberspace got a high-profile Idaho addition to the blogosphere: "From the Editors."

Managing editor at Idaho Press-Tribune Vickie Holbrook and assistant managing editor David Woolsey went live with their blog late Wednesday after being inspired by Rep. Bill Sali's spokesman Wayne Hoffman. Last weekend the Press-Tribune published an editorial stating it was inappropriate for Hoffman to serve as Sali's campaign spokesman as well as his official Congressional spokesman.

In response to the creation of "From the Editors"—which unabashedly cited Hoffman as the man behind the launch—Hoffman threw another log on the fire with his guest opinion response in today's edition of the Press-Tribune. In it, Hoffman purports that he's not only been vilified by the newspaper but that its "joined the chorus of shrill news lemmings all marching willingly to a sea of liberalism, filth and innuendo."
