BW Electile Function

Posted By on Tue, Nov 4, 2008 at 4:00 AM

An informal poll at our humble workplace yields an above average Election Day showing:

  • Nine of us voted at the polls this morning,
  • five intend to vote later today, before the close of polls at 8 p.m.,
  • and three voted absentee.
  • Four members of the esteemed BW staff are totally AWOL right now.

One BW worker bee tried to vote yesterday but was rebuffed by the line at the early voting location. She was overjoyed to slide right through the polls this morning, yelping, "Hooray for procrastination" and clicking her heels twice.

Another sentimental colleague actually cried after pulling the lever, er, filling in the bubble sheet, this morning: "Afterwards I cried because it’s the first time in my life that I have felt even a tinge of patriotism. Put that on the beat and smoke it."

See, BW has mad patriotism!

Leave us your voting stories in the comments, or over at The citydesk. And call or e-mail if you run into any actual electile dysfunction today. We have the cure.
