I've bitched before about the fact that Boise doesn't have a regular outdoor film gig in the park. This summer Boise Parks and Rec plans to show three family movies on an inflatable screen at Julia Davis, but I'll admit I'm not really satisfied with that. I don't have kids. I don't want to watch Monsters vs. Aliens. I want to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's and Casablanca. But Julia Davis is no Bryant Park, and Boise ain't no Manhattan. This summer's film series is at least a start, and Boise is—if nothing else—so bent on family fun that we kid-less will settle with kid-friendly The Wizard of Oz.
Or maybe I'll just ditch my bike for my car and make the drive to Caldwell. The Terrace Drive-in Theater opened last night for double headers Thursday through Sunday nights. This weekend, ironically, Monsters vs. Aliens is show No. 1 and Push is show No. 2. The box office opens at 8:30 p.m., show starts at 9:30 p.m. Want more info, call 208-455-1433.
