Cobweb readers are likely familiar with local illustrator Ben Wilson’s work—whether you've seen it peeking through the windows at the Basement Gallery, popping off the pages of BW or adorning the walls at Boise Fry Company. But for those who can’t afford the considerable chunk of change it costs to purchase one of his paintings, you’re still in luck.

At benwilsonart.com, Wilson offers limited-edition prints that he’s created for various rock shows around the Northwest—all for a super-reasonable $15. His cartoonish, slightly sinister characters have adorned posters for bands like: Modest Mouse, Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, The Decemberists and Iron and Wine.

Wilson's most recent poster—which features a giant, plaid-shirt-clad dude lifted over the ocean by a couple of fairy-like tiny sail-boasts—was originally created for a Grizzly Bear concert at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Ore. While there are currently some available copies of this print, don’t expect them to last much longer. As Wilson stated on his Web site, this print is one of his favorites of the year:

“The latest release from Grizzly Bear will definitely be on my top 10 list for 2009. It is beautiful.”
