Rec Fat Money

It’s now a matter of fact: Boise’s bike community walks the walk, or rather, pedals the pedal.
The final totals are in for the annual Tour de Fat, which raises money for locally based bike organizations, and little old Boise beat out much larger towns on the 11-city tour.
This year, money raised in Boise went to the Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association and the Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance, while the Boise Bicycle Project was on hand to collect donated bikes and parts.
In all, more than $276,000 was raised through the event—bringing the total New Belgium Brewing has donated to more than $1.25 million, since starting the Tour de Fat. This year, more than 55,000 came out to celebrate during the course of the tour.
Here’s the city-by-city breakdown, ranked in order of most money raised.
