Impress Kristin Armstrong With Your Art Skills

Posted By on Tue, Jan 12, 2010 at 3:40 PM

If chugging down chocolate milk hasn’t gotten you any closer to meeting Olympic gold medalist Kristin Armstrong, maybe your artistic prowess will. To commemorate Armstrong’s cycling accomplishments, the eight-mile stretch of Bogus Basin Road from Curling Road to the Ada-Boise county line will be designated (but not renamed) “Kristin Armstrong Bikeway.” In order to pretty up the new road signs that will dot the bikeway, the City of Boise has put out a call to artists.

Artists are asked to submit a letter of interest, a resume and 10 images of their work by Feb. 12, 2010 at 4 p.m. A selection panel will review the submissions, and after an artist is selected, Kristin Armstrong herself will give the final design the "OK." The plan is for all of the signs to be installed and dedicated in spring of 2010. For more info on submission guidelines, head here.
