Need Something to Do Friday?

Posted by Josh Gross on Fri, Apr 2, 2010 at 10:05 AM

Friday. The official end of the work week. Come 5 p.m. today, when that whistle blows, no one owns a piece of your time. That means it's time to hit the streets, drag the main, paint the town some metaphorical color since actually painting it would be some kind of municipal infraction.

With the nightlife in mind, here's some stuff going on tonight and this weekend.

If you want some cheap music: Markos Photinos has been making awesome and innovative dub and hip-hop for more than fifteen years. He'll be at Reef tonight with The Monk Band for the low, low introductory price of $5.

If you want some nationally known music: Chamillionaire and Paul Wall are at The Knitting Factory for $25 and they wanna show all their haters love, so make sure to wave.

If you want some art: (Or were busy hiding out in an an igloo last night) It's First Friday in Eagle and all the galleries are open.

If you want do a mitzvah: Wahooz is offering $5 off entry all weekend for anyone who brings donations to The Idaho Food Bank.

If you want to punish your stomach: Enter the pickled egg eating contest at The Nut House on Saturday.

And if you want to relive the trauma of your middle school talent show: Go see Cats at The Morrison Center.
