Cinco de Mayo Will Be Celebrated on Doce de Mayo

Because of severe weather warnings—including rain and heavy winds—and concerns for public safety, the Downtown Boise Association has canceled this evening's Cinco de Mayo celebrations planned for the Grove Plaza and rescheduled them for Wednesday, May 12.

Here's the National Weather Service forecast for today and tonight:

"This afternoon: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Areas of blowing dust. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51 F. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 26 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph 50 percent chance of precipitation.

Tonight: Scattered rain showers before midnight, then scattered rain and snow showers. Areas of blowing dust before 10 p.m. Snow level 3200 feet. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32 F. Breezy, with a northwest wind 23 to 26 mph decreasing to between 15 and 18 mph. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph. 50 percent chance of precipitation. Little or no snow accumulation expected."
