On Sunday, August 29, from 1-4 p.m., Downtown Boise will be transformed into a massive exhibit of musicians, magicians, jugglers, dancers and Naked Cowboy wannabes all competing for Boise’s very own Curb Cup.
Curb Cup 2 is the second annual city-wide competition for local talent, which includes everything from bands to breakdancers to comedians. This year promises to be bigger and better with hundreds of performers all competing for the coveted Curb Cup and a $1,000 cash prize. Each attendee does double duty as a voter. Everyone who shows up gets three tokens, which they use to vote for their favorite performers: when you find a performer you like, you put a token into that performer's bucket. At the end of the event, the tokens will be counted and the winner announced.
The registration for the Curb Cup is still open so if you want to be discovered, enjoy entertaining or just think you could get the most tokens, then register online at boisecurbcup.com. The center of the event will be the Boise Centre on the Grove, but will run along Eighth street from Jefferson to Broad Street.
The best part is that it’s all free. So make it an afternoon and go marvel at, laugh at and vote for your favorite local talent.
