August has arrived. Forget back-to-school sales. It's time to think about getting in shape for ski season. The Idaho Nordic Ski Club members have been at it since June, but there's still time to firm up your fanny before the snow flies. Club members meet on Wednesday evenings at Fort Boise for hardcore dryland training sessions. These sessions are only open to club members, but the club is hosting an event this Saturday to invite anyone and everyone into the hurt locker. Enter the XC 12K, a cross-country run on almost eight miles of foothill trails. The race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 7 and begins and ends at Fort Boise.
Because of the location and use of the Ridge-To-Rivers trail system, the field size is limited to only 200 people. Doesn't knowing that something is of limited supply make you want it more? An entry can still be yours, but as of today, there were only 44 spots remaining, so get your fanny in gear and sign up.
