The Grand Ol’ Time square dance and acoustic music series at the Linen Building is over and done with, but not to worry. The folks in charge are changing things up—beginning today—with the inaugural Hokum Hoedown.

As the name implies, this is a down-home/old-fashioned/two-steppin’ party for those who like to kick it country style every once in a while. Known for their old-time mountain music, the Hokum Hi-Flyers will be serving up their vast array of folk dance and string band tunes for you to make your way around the floor to, as veteran caller Dorothy Shue returns to make sure you know when to do-si-do.

The swingin’ (Dancing, people. We’re talking about dancing here.) starts at 7 p.m., and the whole family is welcome. There will be a full bar for those with proper documentation, aka ID, and Pie Hole will be serving up pizza. Yee haw!
