Local Chef Dustan Bristol Nominated for James Beard Award

Dustan Bristol, Brick 29
For the third year in a row Dustan Bristol, owner and chef of Brick 29 in Nampa, has been named a semi-finalist for the James Beard Award in the Best Chef: Northwest category.

His competition is 18 other great chefs from from Montana, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Wyoming and, according to jamesbeard.org, the semi-finalists were chosen out of 28,000 entries.

In the interest of full disclosure, I went to culinary school with Bristol, who is this year's only Idaho-based nominee. I want him to win.
