Need Something to do Monday?

Libraries are more than just repositories of free reading material. They're community spaces where everyone has access to information of all types, be it on the printed page, from a lecture series or through a search on the Internet.

In times of economic struggle, public libraries are more important than ever as a way to give people who are struggling access to information about much-needed resources.

The opening of a new library is a happening, and today there is reason to celebrate.

The Lake Hazel Branch Library will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. today, featuring refreshments and music from students of the Christine Donnell School of the Arts. From 6-9 p.m., there will be an open house so people can get acquainted with the services offered by the library.
