Need Something To Do Monday?

Posted By on Mon, May 16, 2011 at 6:00 AM

Boise Bike Week, that annual celebration of the two-wheeled miracle, the bicycle, kicks off today.

Today you can get started bright and early by hearing from City Council member Alan Shealy on the importance of bikes and then meeting up with other "bike people" at City Hall at 7 a.m.

Or take part in the Twilight Parade. If coming from the west, start at the south side of the Boise River just east of Glenwood. From the east, start at Bown Crossing. Both routes converge at Sun Ray Cafe in Hyde Park, where cyclists can enjoy pizza and beer specials. The first 30 cyclists to register at each starting point will receive a free bike light.
