The Spring Creep

No, not the dude who wears his bathrobe to the supermarket. The spring creep is the slow, subtle approach of decent weather. It has taken longer than usual, but the snow is finally clearing from the highest points in the foothills, thereby opening the door to countless possibilities for fair-weather fun.

Apart from a few intermittent rain showers, a Sunday afternoon motorcycle ride to the Eighth Street Ridge some 2,500 feet above Boise proved fruitful. The snow level has finally receded above the 5,000-foot mark in the surrounding area, and—provided that mother nature doesn't toss us another curve ball—we're within a few weeks of being able to traverse every peak within an hour of Boise.

Even Bogus Basin is starting to show some brown spots, and not a minute too soon, with many Boiseans looking forward to Memorial Day camping trips throughout the region.
