Though the economy is turning around a bit, bank foreclosures are still happening at an alarming pace. But not all of them are legitimate. Many foreclosures were found to be the fault of bank errors.
One Florida couple who had bought their house with cash—meaning they never had a mortgage—became the victims of just such a foreclosure. And when Bank of America wouldn't pay up after the courts ruled in their favor, they did exactly what the bank would and showed up with a moving van and the sheriff to start seizing the bank's assets.
Is it a cheap stunt? Absolutely. But damn, doesn't it make your heart burst with joy?
