After Death Cab for Cutie released the “first-ever, scripted, one-take music video shoot” on April 5 to an audience of millions, what resulted was a piqued interest by other bands looking to experiment with the video medium.
The Bynars, a four-piece electro-pop outfit from Boston, took interactive and gave it their own peculiar and funny spin. To the tune of their synth-heavy and go-to summer jam, How Does it Feel to Be in Love?, the quartet released an interactive music video.
The video, which takes after Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible and Cold War Kids’ I’ve Seen Enough, features four separate squares and a total of 12 different videos. Clicking on a square changes its individual video, which includes not only the members of the band, but also a giraffe, a panda, a monkey, a wolf and a gaggle of silhouettes as the surprisingly heartfelt track about love, loss and the fear of commitment and relationships plays.
The Bynars released their debut, self-titled full-length on July 12. They are currently touring the East Coast in support of the new album, which is already garnering some label attention and a mass of new listeners.
