Your social calendar is full all summer long with live music, blockbuster movies and assorted parties. Weekends are spent by a body of water or grill, and Mondays are back-to-work recovery days. We know you have a lot going on, but that’s what the long, warm days of summer are for. Here are a few things you can do today—just to round out the week.
Head to the Old Idaho Penitentiary during your lunch hour for a lecture on the 10 men who were executed there back in the days when it was an actual prison. Take your lunch and soak up Amber Beierle’s expertise on the subject.
Yoga during lunch at Sage Yoga and Wellness downtown is always an option if you’re in more of a meditative mood.
After work, head to Sockeye Brewery, where you can snag a hand-crafted brew and a seat on the patio while the Shook Twins play their quirky brand of folk music. The tunes starts at 8 p.m., but you might want to get there a little earlier in order to score a good seat.
And if you’re looking for something a little rowdier, head to Visual Arts Collective for Uber Tuesdays. VAC has a patio where you can enjoy a local beer (from Payette Brewing Company) and food (Archie’s Place and/or Pie Hole). Radiation City headlines tonight at 8, with locals Flashlights, Talk Math To Me and Shades opening.
So there you have it. Plenty of options to refresh your mind, body and spirit—and all on a Tuesday. Who knew?
