Need Something To Do Tuesday?

Posted By on Tue, Aug 30, 2011 at 7:00 AM

Some of Boise's music venues are known for a certain style: Walk into Neurolux on any given night for a punk or rock fix, put your dancing shoes on and head to Liquid or Grainey's, or get your groove on to reggae at Reef. Generally speaking, of course.

Pengilly's is a good spot for down-home, boot-stompin' country/Americana/roots-rock in downtown. In addition to the local bands that play regular gigs, sometimes you can walk through the doors and catch an old-time jam session in progress—with the members of the Hokum Hi-Flyers and whoever else would like to join in.

Lucky you, one of those times happens to be tonight. Take your fiddle or harmonica to join in, or belly up to the bar for a drink, kick back and be entertained. The jam session begins at 6 p.m. and is FREE.
