Just because it's called a "Toilet Bowl" doesn't mean it's time to bust out the scrub brush and Comet cleaner. In fact, you should be busting out your blue and orange to kick off Homecoming Week and support a different kind of football team—co-ed flag football teams, to be exact.
Sure, flag football isn't as glamorous as its big brother and it involves a lot less padding with a lot lower potential for injury. In a town like Boise, where Bronco football reigns supreme and fans of "the other team" may as well zip their lips, flag football is often forgotten or written off as a gym-class relic. But that doesn't mean it's down for the count, and that doesn't make it less fun to watch.
Even if your vocal cords are already tired from cheering the Broncos, flag football is a great alternative to the fierce competition of regular Boise State football.
Also awesome is the price: The Toilet Bowl Flag Football Tournament is free for spectators, so head to the stadium to see co-ed teams butt heads.
The Toilet Bowl takes place today from 3:30-11 p.m. at Bronco Stadium.
