While the rest of us are quaking in our boots (literally) when La Nina hits, skiers and boarders are chomping at the bit, eager to hit the slopes. Colder temperatures and wetter weather in the Pacific Northwest create an ideal climate for snow lovers during a La Nina winter.
Attack of La Nina: The Bitch Is Back is a Matchstick Productions film about winter sports enthusiasts just crazy enough to dive into the deep—almost overwhelming—powder La Nina pours down upon us. Following in the footsteps of The Way I See It, last year's award-winning film examining the perspectives of famous skiers, Attack of La Nina follows extreme free-skiers getting insane air, plowing through trenches of snow and taking advantage of the incredible dearth of fresh powder.
Featuring skiers Sean Pettit, Mark Abma, Ingrid Backstrom and Cody Townsend, Attack of La Nina includes action shots that will give you goosebumps whether you're an avid skier or content to be a spectator.
To make Attack of La Nina part of your warm-up before a cold ski season, head to the Egyptian Theatre. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door or $10 at the Helly Hansen pre-party until showtime.
The pre-party gets kickin' at 5:30 p.m. at Helly Hansen. Munchies and beer will be served, with promotional sales throughout the store and a raffle to win Helly Hansen, Dakine and Oakley merchandise.
