Need Volunteers?

Posted By on Wed, Jan 4, 2012 at 12:41 PM

Amid the flurry of New Year's resolutions broken as quickly as they are made, a few actually manage to stick. One of the most popular vows made each year is the promise to give back to the community by volunteering—not a bad thing at all considering the warm, fuzzy feeling volunteers receive and the much-needed help organizations get.

But saying you'll start volunteering and actually carrying through with it are completely different things. Finding the perfect match between organization and volunteer is all about identifying need, interest, skill and availability.

Boise Weekly is once again looking to help make that volunteering love match by publishing a volunteer guide to help would-be do-gooders find their best fit. But first, we need to know who needs volunteers to do what.

If your nonprofit or organization regularly needs volunteer help, let us know. Send us a note outlining what your organization does, what you need, what sort of work is required and a contact name and phone number to be considered for inclusion in our Volunteer Guide.

Information can be sent to Features Editor Deanna Darr at deanna@boiseweekly.com.
