Need Something To Do Thursday?

Posted By on Thu, Jan 26, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Did you know there's a place in Boise that houses a bunch of frogs, sharks, sea horses, sting rays and a bunch of other exotic aquatic life forms? No, it's not some crazy's attempt to recreate the world of the Little Mermaid in her back yard.

The Idaho Public Aquarium, located off Cole Road, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., yes, including today. So why not go check out all the neat-o underwater creatures? Need to occupy your offspring? Take the kids to the touch pool and let them get close to the critters. Admission is $9 adults, $7 military, $6 children younger than 12 and free for children younger than 2.

Take a camera and catch the last day of the aquarium's photo contest. Post your shot of the aquarium to its Facebook page, and whichever photo has the most likes by 10 p.m. tonight earns a $50 prize.
