Need Something To Do Monday?

Posted By on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 6:00 AM

There are probably only a few ways you might have managed not to hear about Story Story Night or the Story Story Initiative by now: Maybe you've been orbiting the planet in some sort of high-tech space pod, living underground for the past decade attempting to start your own subterranean society, or maybe your personal brand of crazy involves wearing earmuffs and a blindfold so that you never receive any sort of information about the world.

If any of those are true, and you've managed to not to be familiar with Story Story night—which takes place on the last Monday of every month and involves a different theme each time—tonight is your night to get in the know.

Beginning at 7 p.m. at the Rose Room, Erin Anchustegui, Al Popwell and Greg Duffy will tell their stories on the theme of Redemption: Stories of the Comeback. After the wordsmiths have shared their stories, an intermission with live music will ensue, and artists with Patcasso will paint a piece on the theme.

An open story slam will follow, in which audience members get a chance to tell their stories and score some sweet swag, including the Patcasso artists' creation and goodies from Boise Guest House and Rediscovered Bookshop.

One-of-a-kind Story Story merchandise from Bricolage will be available for purchase, and keep your ticket stub for the Story Story after party at Red Feather Lounge.

Tickets are $5 and available at the door, or at the Story Story website.
