Ever think about how you'd describe your life in a single word? Well, take a few and ponder it.

Tougher than you thought, isn't it? For beloved Northwest Nazarene University Professor Emeritus Mary Shaffer, that word is "artful," and the late artist-educator is the subject of Friesen Galleries' latest exhibition.

The Artful Life of Mary Shaffer includes her works in oil, acrylic and watercolor. According to Joel Pearsall, NNU vice president for university advancement, as per the NNU website:

“Dr. Mary Shaffer’s passion for art and take-charge approach to life have resulted in significant contributions to NNU’s art department since 1971. Dr. Shaffer impacted the lives of literally hundreds of students over her 49-year teaching career."

You can check out the exhibition Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment. Admission is free and the show will continue through Friday, Nov. 16.
