Need Something To Do Thursday?

When uttered by a baby, a ballad tends to be a hysterical, blood-curdling cry that signals some sort of feeding/changing/burping is needed.

Fortunately, the Ballad of Baby Doe has nothing to do with infantile shrieks. It's quite the opposite. The American opera from John Latouche has been music to audiences' ears since the 1950s, and Opera Idaho will perform the work Friday, April 13, and Sunday, April 15, at the Egyptian Theatre.

The stars of the show will also perform FREE excerpts today at the Ada Community Library's Victory branch at 7 p.m. That's right—you can catch part of the show for zero dinero. Visit the library's website or call 208-362-0181, Ext. 6, for more info.
