Boise's Snake River Rugby Club is on its way to the Pacific Coast regional championship in Portland, Ore., after snatching up its conference championship last weekend.

"Lots of exciting stuff happened," said team member Nick Kawaguchi. "We played for the Pacific Northwest Rugby Football Union championship last weekend in Seattle. We had a game on Saturday against the Rovers and the title game on Sunday against the Tsunami. We won the championship 62-0. It was a great day."

The team now moves on to the Pacific Coast Rugby Football Union championship in Portland April 21-22. The regional tournament includes the Pacific Northwest conference, as well as winners from Northern California and Utah.

"When we win this, the next step is the National Sweet 16 in California and the National Final Four in Colorado," Kawaguchi sad. "We have a great team and everyone is dedicated. Everyone is pumped about the possibility of winning a national championship."

Boise Weekly caught up with the team earlier this month, and you can read about it here .
