Need Something To Do Wednesday?

Posted By on Wed, May 16, 2012 at 6:00 AM

In case you aren't aware, this is the perfect week to flaunt your bicycle enthusiasm. Boise Bike Week kicked off May 14, and there's a whole bunch of neat-o stuff you can do involving your two-wheeled ride.

Today is no exception. If you're a bit of a nervous cyclist and riding off of the sidewalk scares the bejeezus out of you, head to George's Cycles at 10178 W. Fairview Ave. today at 5 p.m. The bike-smart peeps of the Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance will present a condensed version of the shop's regular Street Smarts Cycling course, which covers topics like hand signals, basic lane positioning, turning, lane changes, avoiding potential problems, stop lights and cycling road laws.

The course is FREE and takes one hour. For more on this and other Bike Week events, check out boisebikeweek.org.
