Need Something To Do Tuesday?

Posted By on Tue, Jun 12, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Do you delight in the thrill of the unknown—never reading the last page of a book before you've read the rest, and mentally sucker-punching anyone who dares to tell you how a movie you haven't yet seen ends? Then, lover of mystery, you will enjoy the who-knows-what'll-happen-ness of open mic and jam nights.

Boise has many iterations of jam open mic nights, but arguably one of the finest can be found every Tuesday at Pengilly's Saloon. The place that houses the Frim Fram Four and Americana bands on the reg opens its stage up weekly to aspiring musicians, beginning at 8 p.m.

The evening is hosted by the Hokum Hi-Flyers, which also rocks the Linen Building during its monthly Hokum Ho-Down.

The jam nightopen mic is FREE, so you can spend more money at the bar, shooting pool or sinking quarters into the Pac-Man machine. Bring your guitar and show off your skills, or sit back and enjoy the talents of the brave Boiseans playing together.

*Note: Pengilly's also hosts an open mic night every Monday at 8 p.m. with Rebecca Scott and Rob Hill.
