Need Something To Do Thursday?

Posted By on Thu, Jun 28, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Americans love explosions. And that adoration for things that go "boom" can be embraced today at the Discovery Center of Idaho.

During the center's popular Adult Night series, the 21-and-older set can enjoy food-truck grub and adult beverages while playing with the exhibits, all without having to battle children. In addition, attendees can participate in the "largest Diet Coke and Mentos explosion Boise has ever seen."

Various explosive demonstrations will take place throughout the night, culminating with the giant explosion outside. Want to participate in the big ol' Diet-Mento mess? Bring a roll of The Freshmaker. Diet Coke will be provided.

The fun starts at 6 p.m. and costs $10, or $8 for DCI members. Tickets include a drink token, and for an additional $2, attendees can score a sweet color-changing cup to swig their beer from. You can check 'em out here.
