It's the time of year when each beautiful summer day is to be treasured, because soon enough, the early morning and late-evening chill in the air will be around all the time.
Today, you can make the most of the near-end of the season by spending a day outdoors at Boise State's Get Rec'd and Recover day. No, it's not a campus kegger that will get you wrecked, but rather a day in the hopefully not-smoke-filled air with tons of activities.
From 1-4 p.m. at the field behind the Student Union Building, you can enjoy free food, play a game of grass volleyball or soccer, survey some dutch oven demonstrations, get your blood pressure checked, watch those in club sports demonstrate their skills, and gain some knowledge at the health and nutrition information tables.
You can also get a jump-start on registering for campus recreational activities for the semester and preview some of the Rec Center's instructional programs, including piyo (a pilates-yoga fusion) at 1:30 p.m., tabata at 2 p.m., boxing at 2:30 p.m., hip-hop dance at 3 p.m., and turbokick at 3:30 p.m. The event is FREE and open to everyone. Visit the Rec Center's website for more info.
