Need Something To Do Saturday?

Posted By on Sat, Sep 1, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Tired of relegating your weekend socialization to bars? Hop in the car and head to the historic Roseberry townsite, where you can harken back to the days of yesteryear with an old-fashioned ice cream social today from noon-4 p.m.

If creamy, sugar-laden desserts aren't enticing to you, or lactose intolerance won't allow you to indulge, there's plenty more to do and eat at the site near Donnelly. Hotdogs, hamburgers, pastries and lemonade will be available to nosh on while you take a variety of rides—including hay, tractor and buggy—and cruise a selection of antique and classic cars on display.

Find out how old things work and thank your lucky stars for modern conveniences with antique engine and equipment demonstrations and get yourself some culture with Scandinavian music by Emil and Jean Makin from noon-2 p.m.

Kids can enjoy crafts and you just may take home something to keep you warm in the upcoming winter months with a quilt raffle. Proceeds from the various events benefit the Long Valley Preservation Society, which works to preserve Valley County history, including the Roseberry townsite. Learn more about it here.
