Need Something To Do Friday?

Hotel art can be a bit banal—landscapes purchased en masse with the sole purpose of matching the colors in the carpet. But Boise Guest House isn't a run-of-the-mill hotel. Carefully decorated and themed suites fill the boutique-lodging establishment.

Today from 5-9 p.m., you can find out what Boise Guest House has to offer during its open house, which will feature the local art exhibition Navigate. For this show, more than 24 artists interpreted the theme of navigation using a metal school compass on 11-inch by 14-inch wood panels.

The exhibition opened at Bricolage First Thursday, Aug. 2, and prints of the originals were made for the Guest House.

Local guitar guru Dan Costello will provide live music. Snacks and drinks will also be available during the open house.
