Burger buffs no longer need to hop in their rides to get a grass-fed patty slathered in sauce and saddled between buns. Starting tonight, the Burgerlicious food truck will bring the burger to you.
“We have local grass-fed meat only—K4D [Family] Farms in Weiser—and our specialty is our sauces, because it’s, ‘Burgerlicious: Embrace Your Saucy Side,’” explained Ingrid Bolen, Burgerlicious co-owner.
Bolen, who was laid off from the State of Idaho two years ago, said she decided to open a food truck to reinvent herself and “do something interesting.” Bolen and business partner Lora Gaut will roll out Burgerlicious at Crooked Fence Brewery at 5242 Chinden Blvd. in Garden City from 5-9 p.m.
“We looked at what’s out there right now and there’s so many awesome barbecue trucks and there’s so many awesome taco trucks, we thought there’s this niche that’s missing and we personally both love burgers—especially grass-fed meat, I’m a convert, I’ll never go back to anything else,” said Bolen.
Burgerlicious has a limited menu—grass-fed beef patties or store-bought veggie burgers topped with a variety of specialty sauces.
“We have one called the zingy and it’s a horseradish sauce, we have a bleu cheese bacon, we have an Idaho fry sauce and we have a flame shooter, very spicy,” said Bolen. “And those same hamburger sauces are modified a little bit into dipping sauces for our fries and curly fries.”
