Daniel Day-Lewis Goes 'All Eastwood' On Empty Chair

Two-time Academy Award-winner Daniel Day-Lewis—already mentioned by some as a front-runner for next year's Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln—had another president on his mind Nov. 7, when he picked up a special achievement award from the British Academy of Film in Los Angeles.

As he took to the stage to pick up the prize from Lincoln director Steven Spielberg, Day-Lewis turned to an empty chair and had a little fun, at Clint Eastwood's expense.

"When I saw [Eastwood] talking to a chair in front of a room full of strangers, I thought, 'I've got to try that,'" Day-Lewis said.
