Need Something To Do Thursday?

Posted By on Thu, Dec 20, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Hours at the mall hauling around bags loaded with holiday goodies can make those slacks from Banana Republic feel like cast iron cookware from Williams & Sonoma, and give your eyes that thousand-yard stare.

It's time for some family holiday entertainment that isn't going to deplete your checking account or fill you with holiday rage. It's time for Holidays in Hyde Park: Collecting for the Future.

From 2-7 p.m., Hyde Park businesses are hosting a canned food drive and activities all around the North End's itty bitty commercial district, like making gingerbread men and Christmas tree ornaments, roasting marshmallows and more at Parrilla Grill, Harry's Hyde Park Pub, 13th Street Pub and Grill, Dunia Marketplace, Stinker Station and Hyde Park Books.
