Need Something To Do Monday?

The problem with New Year's Eve is that the classic image of the New Year's party isn't kid-friendly. Parents get toasted on champagne, celebrating the birth of a fresh 365-day cycle, while their kids watch the ball drop in Times Square on television as they sip on juice boxes wondering what the big deal is.

Wouldn't it be great if there were a family friendly place to go for New Year's where the celebration takes place in a wintery style? Idaho IceWorld at 7072 S. Eisenman Road has a solution to your dilemma.

Starting at 8 p.m., Boise's skating rink is hosting its Skate into the New Year Party. The first 50 entrants get noisemakers to welcome Tuesday, Jan. 1, with a bang. Admission is $5, including skate rentals, and the party ends at 1 a.m.
