Ride Idaho Route Unveiled Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Beside Bardenay

Conditions haven't exactly been conducive to road biking lately, but it's never too early to plan ahead, especially for a 400-mile, multi-day ride.

The crew at Ride Idaho—one of the state's top long-distance, supported rides—will unveil the course for this year's event at a kick-off party on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 5:30-9 p.m. at Beside Bardenay in downtown Boise.

Each year the ride takes 350 bikers through a different section of the state, but it always totals roughly 400 miles. Last year, the ride led through north Central Idaho. Wherever the ride is, participants take advantage of a full support staff that does everything from cooking to transporting gear to patching up any road wounds.

Registration for the ride—which will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, through Saturday, Aug. 10—will open at 7 p.m. at the kick-off party as well online, giving both the public partiers and those who would prefer to rest up at home equal access. Of course, those who turn up in person can take advantage of free munchies and a no-host bar.

The kick-off party is a shared celebration with Idaho Tourism, which is releasing the new Idaho Travel Guide that night. The guide highlights travel, recreation, lodging and assorted tourist info for the entire state. You can get a free copy by requesting one at
