If you have been wondering what's going down at the Bittercreek/Red Feather complex in recent weeks, we have the answer. Boise Weekly took a quick pre-re-opening tour to check out the facelift the duo has recently undergone. While the place is still under construction, they are getting close to applying the finishing touches.
Co-owner Kevin Kelpe has been working around the clock alongside construction crews to get everything in order as peak patio season approaches. Faithful patrons can expect some nice upgrades to both restaurant/bars, including new wood finishes, more efficient and comfortable seating, a new bar top in Red Feather, upgraded patio, new artwork by Conrad Garner and more distinct and user friendly entryways. There will even be a server station directly adjacent to the patio. Behind the scenes, a new high-efficiency kitchen is in place that will increase service top to bottom.
According to Kelpe, the bars are set for a friends and family soft opening mid- to late-next week, with doors opening to the public a few days later.
"It will be a new version of the same old place. We're trying to keep enough of the previous iteration and the one before that. We're making sure we're keeping the feeling and the sense of the place," said Kelpe.
