Nostalgic Boiseans longing to relive the days of Berlin and Chaka Khan should look no further than The Red Room’s new '80s Night Series, debuting Thursday, May 9.

Tonight, punk will give way to synthpop and glam rock, including live band karaoke into the wee hours, all for a meager $2 at the door.

Belt out power ballads with The Pony DJ, aka Grant Olsen, spinning hits from the late 1970’s and 1980’s beginning at 9 p.m. At 9:30 p.m., catch Boise's New Wave/'80s cover band Popsicle channel the likes of Depeche Mode and Erasure. Todd Dunnigan crafts uptempo, synthesizer-based beats and singer Leta Neustaedter provides dance-worthy vocals.

From 11:15 p.m.-1 a.m., Dunnigan will take over the keys once more for live band karaoke, armed with an extensive catalogue of '80s songs by Devo, New Order, Prince and many more.

Plans call for two more '80s Nights, Thursday, June 13 and Wednesday, July 17, with bands TBA.
