Boise Bike Week may be a fading image in the tiny rearview mirror attached to your helmet, but the people's bike festival is now upon us.

Pedal 4 the People, the Boise Bicycle Project's third annual community organized bike festival is slated to shift into gear Saturday, June 8-Saturday, June 22, and the initial lineup is looking pretty biketastic.

Some standout events include the Mountain Bike Scavenger Hunt on Tuesday, June 11.

Another truly bizarre time is likely to be had at fairly self-explanitory Huffy Toss on Thursday, June 20.

Pedal 4 the People also has several popular returning events like the Tweed Ride. The biggest eye-grabber of the bunch is the second edition of the Bare as You Dare Ride, which debuted last year with several-dozen scantily clad daredevils whooping it up with their epidermises showing, and is likely to grow in both size and nudity this year when it goes down on Saturday, June 15.

All events are free and community organized. The complete calendar can be seen here.

Check out the Wednesday, June 12, edition of Boise Weekly for more of our top picks of Pedal 4 the People events.
